Cheap replacement for Applique panel

a Year ago or so...i noticed the passengers side applique fell off




....started asking around..what in the world that p.o.s triangle was called...there were so many names to it...and after that..couldnt find a part number....so after rigorous searching on dozens of forums..i finally found it.....went on gmpartsdirect...bought it (10 bux)...then come to find out ..i ordered the one for the coupe...so i went back to gmpartsdirect.com.... looked around for the convertible one...it was 60-100 bux from what i remember..so i sat bummed out thinking and looking at the stupid panel...then i realized my mom has a dremel kit...then i embarked on the adventure of customizing the wrong panel to fit.....got the kit......cut the bottom part because it apparantly didnt fit..(check out the etnies .....

tried it out for fitment issues......needed to cut the whole "hook looking thing on the panel facing the window..


did a lil bit more shaving...n then FINALLY!..YES!!. payed 10 bux instead of 60-100 with just a lil bit more effort...

I didn't know that it was removable. I had a bubbling and peeling paint on both sides. How is it held on there?
