Fell the difference in a drop to 3rd compared to 4th at 75 mph. You need da driver mod.

Eh, it's an LS1 forum not a Mustang forum. I can see if he went to an SVT forum or something and said that then it might be considered "stirring the pot". But I understand where your comming from, it does get annoying when you come on here to have a civilized chat with "the other side" and certain memebrs are hard set on picking your car apart.
To the OP good death. I raced what I thought was just a riced out Civic nothing car a while back in my father's Camaro SS m6. It turns out the guy had a T63 turbo set up on it. Good thing he couldn't get traction and I drive the Camaro like it's stolen otherwise he would have won, Lol. I always try the lower gear first in a roll race and work my way up even if it takes letting my opponent out ahead of me until I find what gear works best.

In most cases like this the GT is juiced all t'shit, plus any number of other mods. It really is a freak occurrence. You'll get him next time champ.

A friend of mine has a 2002 GT. His only mods are bolt ons and a new transmission. I forgot which kind it is but its also a 5 speed. No cam no nitrous just bolt ons and tranny and he runs low 12s

Also I just read about you guys going into 4th gear at 100 and 3rd gear at 75? Why is it that I can take my 2nd gear all the way to about 100ish while racing?

Exactly, I learned from my WS6 when I owned it and my father's 99 SS that these cars will run better in the lower gears from a roll. I always grab a lower gear and ease out the clutch, if it's too much, I just go up one. It's better to spend the time finding the right gear then to wait out the wrong one in my opinion.

Well I only been driving my M6 for almost a month now.
I havent raced with bigger gears yet, most of my races was out of 2nd and a low roll, and I took 2nd till like around 100 and then shifted into 3rd and usually the race is over in 3rd gear at around 120ish
So am I racing wrong or just have a different car or what?

How can I find out if I got new gears? I thought mine were stock but I swear I can take 2nd gear to around 100ish before I have to shift. At when RPMs do you shift at?

My 3rd gear is good to between 103 - 105 mph -- At the 1/4 mile track, I have left it in 3rd gear and hit the limiter right as I passed the line-- My time slips have been between 103- 105 mph.
3.42s in my car as well.
There is a gear ratio/ mph calculator floating around on this forum somewhere.
