Air filter?

Will running without an air filter on a dyno help your numbers or hurt them?

I didnt know if running without one would mess up the Air Fuel ratio.

It'll show higher numbers than with the filter, but there's no point if you ask me cause that's not your true power your running on the street so your pretty much lying to yourself. Plus your running the risk of sucking small particles into the engine.

Very little difference.
MAF should still read correctly with or without a filter.

thanks guys I didnt know but I had seen someone pull their filter out before I wondered if it really could mae a difference

Yeah but without the filter it will allow a little better air flow and hence more air flow into the engine.

Correct.

Never said that wasn't the case.

But the gains would be minimal.

Oh very true. Maybe 2 to 3 hp but I'd say the risk of sucking something up outways the gain.

yeah.... and a good KN or "high flow" air Filter.... would pretty much still be the best thing... rather then that Paper Filter thing...

and it would keep the engine safe...
