Blue- 2000 Camaro SS Convertibl
power steering cooler
Sorry if this has allready been brought up before, but just curious, what is the advantage of having a power steering cooler in your camaro? Mine has one, I've just never heard of this device before I bought my 2000 SS this spring.

It is there so that it can internally leak and cause your antifreeze to mix with your power steering fluid and contaminate both systems, and cause you to spend good money replacing it and other vital cooling/steering components down the road when they fail... seriously - that is why it's there!
lol
It is actually there so that when you are driving agressively like autocrossing for example then the p/s pump wont be strained as much, therefore increasing the life of your pump.
BUT they are known to leak, happened to me this summer... fuck was i pissed off!

Also keeps the PS fluid from boiling over during spirited driving, catching fire, and burning your car to the ground. Check out article in Dec. GM High Tech.
