From what I have read, the Textralia would be the nicest option with stock feel and minimal/no chatter. I really wanted to get this one, but I have a relatively stock car, so that is what I plan to use once I start making some decent power add-ons.

When doing the LS7 clutch/flywheel combination, the only non-LS1 parts are the clutch/flywheel/pressure plate. EVERYTHING else is stock LS1 F-body parts/equivalent from what I understand. That is all I bought to go with mine and it all went together and works fine.

I'm thinking about putting a LS7 behind my new forged motor w/roughly 415WHP and of course I can't forget to mention wanting to run a 2 stage nitrous 150+100 setup. I'm running a single stage @ 150HP right now.

Needless to say, the stock LS6 clutch served me well for 1.5 seasons, but its DONE now. Time to upgrade.

Thoughts? I'm betting that I'll the LS7 isn't enough for my requirements. Oh BTW, I don't want pedal pressure like a dump truck either...

One more thing to remember about the LS7 clutch is it's designed for a much lighter car. I personally would not use it in anything more then a full bolt-on car.

I think the Textralia would be a safer way to go for you. I haven't had one, but I wanted one based on what I read about it on here and on their website. Look into that one and see what you think.

    Smile LS 7 clutch

I have a PowrMax LS 7 with 575 RWTQ in my 2001 ZO6 and use the RPS Street Twin Carbon Fiber set-up. Pedal power is near stock and the clutch is rated to 800 HP. Yes, it's costley, but you only need to install one clutch. http://www.carolinaclutch.com/ShowItem/110668.aspx

Does anyone have the GM part numbers for the LS7 clutch and the flywheel needed to put this setup in a F-Body? Anywhere you'd suggest going to buy them?

Excuse my ignorance...Is this a GM product? If so, does anyone know the part numbers? Do I need to replace anything else when using this kit? Is it a kit or does it have separate part numbers? I have a 1999 Trans Am and I am changing out the clutch for the first time after 89k.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Here's what you'll need:

LS7 kit (clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel)
    Pilot bearing
Slave Cylinder (comes with throwout bearing)
    Master Cylinder

    Optional stuff:
ARP Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts
    Tick Master Cylinder
    Tick Speed Bleeder
Rear main seal (might as well change it while you have it out- also check your input shaft seal on the trans, it can leak as well and Autozone has a seal for under $10)

    Supplies:
    Oil
    Dex Trans Fluid
    Dot 3 Brake Fluid
Silicone sealant (for sealing the shifter back down)
    Red Loc-Tite/ Threadlocker

    Tools you DEFINATELY need:
    - For the most part you'll need 10, 13, and 15 mm sockets but make sure you have a shallow 13 and 15mm u-joint socket to remove the trans and bell housing.
    - A VERY long extension for your ratchet to reach the topmost bolts that hold the trans to the bell housing.
    - Clutch alignment tool - picked one up from O'Reily's for $6.

You can order the clutch kit and slave cyl from Kentucky Speed. If you want to spring for it, go ahead and get the Tick MS and speed bleeder from Kentucky Speed as well. I highly recommend them both, but no matter what, get the bleeder. It will make your job infinitely easier. The pilot, seal, and master cyl (if you go with the stock one) can be picked up from GMPartsDirect. Everything else can be picked up from Summit Racing or a local speed/auto supply shop.

Same thing here- I bought the car with a bad clutch. It had 128k on the original clutch and when I swapped it out I took it for a test drive and was shocked at how good it hooked up. It took a few days to wipe the grin off my face...

I noticed that as well- did you see how much all the suspension stuff when up? I was going to buy a bunch of stuff this month but I noticed that everything went up about 10-15%. I ended up going ahead and doing a Double DIN instead.

What double DIN did you install? Any fitment issues? I'm considering that myself, but don't know how involved it is yet with the possible mess with the Monsoon factory stereo/amp/etc.

    Here you go:

    http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129118

I posted a bunch of pics and a pdf template for the brackets. I will most likely go back and re-do the brackets with thicker sheetmetal.
