New Top Speed in my 02' Z06

Not a kill but just as exititing for me. I hit a new top speed in my 02' Z06 on the way to work this morning. It was on a three lane traffic free interstate with about a two mile straight and no on or off ramps. I was in sixth gear at about 12psi of boost and you can see the RPM's. It took me 15 seconds to get the camera ready to snap the shot or I would have hit 200mph instead of 180mph. 200mph to come soon.

I was running 80 when I topped the rise and the straight came into view. Took me about 15 seconds to get the camera ready then I dropped to 5th and ran it to 6k RPM and semi-short shifted to 6th so I could get ready for the picture. Like I said if I had been ready when I topped the rise I would have hit 200mph+ as she was still pulling good.

It was Brady's High Performance in York, PA. Their specialty is building and tuning vettes from the C1-C6's, Calloway's, ZR1's, to the Z06's

Just be smart, man. I'd pay particular attention to the tires before attempting any high speed run like that. That kind of speed puts a new level of strain on rotating parts.

BTW, those are damned impressive numbers from only 12psi. I wonder if my 331 will be anywhere close. Where do you make peak power in terms of RPM?

It was tuned for 14psi and hits max boost and RWHP in the dyno charts at 5,200rpm's and max torque at 4,800rpm's. The rear Nitto 555's @ 335/30/18 are new as well as the 265/40/17 Dunlops up front. I was only at 12psi of boost when I glanced over but I'm sure I hit the 14psi when winding 5th out. I here you about the safety concerns bro!

I can't ever remember having that kind of adrenaline rush man. It got there so quick I was beside myself. I was still shaking from the adrenaline when I got to work about 20 minutes later.

I'd like to hit 200mph in a car that I own at least one time in my life. I think that would be awesome in a car that I could drive every day. I don't but I could.
