Can it? Sure. They are pretty close in performance, though everything else being equal, the 05+ GT probably has a very slight advantage.

Yes I agree, the 05+ Gt would probally beat a 93-97 f-bod LT1, but it would be a great race to watch. Stock M6 TA vs stock 5 speed GT are both mid to high 13 sec cars. My money would be on the "stupid lil Pony" though, seeing as they have the lower first and second gear and the 3:55 rear end gears. But it would be close.

This is sorta what it looked like but the one i raced looked more like the GT500

that is dumb...imagine how much people pay for that...cuz it's a cobra....it's just a gt with stickers.... just like those shelby HERTZ...some color scheme, only 319hp

Yeah, pretty much a drivers race. The GT "should" be the faster car, considering they dyno about 25 or so horsepower more (260-270 range for M5) than your average M6 LT1, but the times i've seen for both cars have been much closer than what the numbers say.
