I think you would have to define "built". Could be a good race.

    +1

If he's not built much you should have him, but if he's built good you could be done.

I used to have a 69 Baracuda with a 383 (from a 69 Road Runner) 4 speed. Slightly built, small cam, Carter four-barrel carb. etc. Had the A833 cast iron trans in it. HEAVY drive train..small car, NO traction. Of course that was 20 years ago. Tires and suspension toys have improved over Pro-Trac L series 60s :much laughter here: But that lil Beeyotch would ROLL. Unless he has ALOT of mods he is gonna run out of breath on a long run.. too many variables to guess.. IF he hooks and has a stroked BB... You may never catch him. Same said for you tho etc etc.. Race him and find out, if there's no cash on the table, what's to lose? You get to run classis hot rod and see what you can do )

the 440 was a factory engine and it was a option at that time for mopar cars. The 440 is no chump engine, slightly modded that thing will cream you, even with crappy tires. If you catch him on the launch he will reel you in. I raced a guy a few years back with a 440 in a dart. He smoked the living daylights out of my 69 camaro, and i was puttin well over 400 to the wheels. All he needs is full exhaust and it is game over.

ok got a update. i called him @ exaclty 7:00 last night, he said he would call me back when he got home from football and ate and showered....well he never called, and today at work he had some bs excuse about being too busy.....i shit talked him till he said saturday @ 1pm---we'll see if it happens.

BTW, i got mixed up on the car info, he was talking about his brothers cuda, he has a 69 charger, its a 440ci, not bored. He claims its been built--but i dont really belive him with all the shit he talks.

We got a $50 bet going on too!

I'll try to get a vid of it too.

You should have a chance , I had a 1970 R/T Challenger SE, 1968 440HP race engine bored, cam, flat top pistons, heads, racing crank, 850 dp holley, 4 spd, 9" rear with 411's and 8-9 MPG to boot. Don't get me wrong, I would get motion sickness just sitting in it idling, and it had the power, but it's heavy, and wouldn't hook on the street. About 80-100 is all it wanted to go before drifting. IMO old street cars are build for 1/8 mile racing and not 1/4. They just don't handle good at high MPH unless someone dumps alot of cash on suspension and strips the weight, I was sad to sell it for college money, but I was more impressed by my 98z and in a lot of ways glad I kept it but sick for what I sold it for
