Oh thanks....now I remember why Ford didn't produce a Cobra in 2000. It's because they got caught inflating the Cobra HP numbers in 1999 which lead to lawsuits and a buyback. And at that same time GM underated the LS-1 at 305.

1999 Cobra Problems -- It's really a sad story for such a legendary nameplate.

The Firebird quote isn't cocky because it's true! We all know the 3800 Firebirds can hang with a stock GT. Don't hate on me, call Ford and tell them they should have put more HP in the GTs!

bbs281..... you do you have a 01 gt with 260 hp 302ft pounds of torque they weight a little more than the Camaro, T/A and Formula, you made a mistake! You should have got a 93-97 LT1 or a 98-02 LS1 range'n from 285-325 hp STOCK.

i do have a 97 lt1 a4 t/a its my daily driver but my gt is lighter both fun cars to drive but i like to shift gears.

ya i wish i had a 6 speed. um 100% sure a 01 gt weights more .......Gt weight 3401, 97 formula ...3311 thats legit too. the t tops make it lighter though
