98 t/a with 150k vs 06 mustang gt

i still laugh about this. i never get a chance to do much with my car cuz of my wife. my t/a was bone stock w/150k when this happened. i was on hwy 278 in bluffton s.c. when i saw this blonde haired surfer lookin guy drivin a brand new mustang gt with his top down. i always heard our cars were faster, but i never raced one and to be honest i felt like my car was kinda tired cuz of the miles. he saw me trying to catch him and managed to stay ahead of me cuz of the traffic (ram air hoods look like theyre trying to eat you from behind. he was scared). eventually i pulled up to him doing about 65 in 3rd gear (m6). he looked at me with this "yeah right" look and floored it. i stomped on it and after about 2 seconds i just started pulling away from him. when i shifted into 4th i saw him fade away along with his pride and confidence in his new car. i know it wasnt as exciting as some of you guys beating vettes and stuff, but it sure was the highlight of my day. i love my car.
