    Roller rocker question

I was looking at these roller rocker arms http://www.granatellimotorsports.com...lerrockers.htm on granatelli's website. They claim 8-11% more hp and 10-15% more fuel efficiency. Is this total BS or are these valid claims?

Do you know if they give any hp or any help in fuel efficiency? Basically I'm wondering even if they don't make what they claim, would it still be a reasonable upgrade and be worth their price?

So pretty much the money could be better spent doing another mod?

if you want rockers that work, then get the vinci/crane accelerated lift kit. used the 1.8 rockers on the wife's car on stock cam and picked up 17 rwhp. the kit is $669.00 through vinci. comes with rockers, posi-locks, guide plates, screw-in-studs, and shorter pushrods.

Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

That's a pretty impressive gain! What other mods does she have? Is that a relatively easy swap?

1.8 rockers will limit what kind of cam a person can get in the future. i advise against it.
i had 1.85 rockers and sold them when i was about to cam the car.

Why would that limit the cam you could use? Would it be more advisable to just upgrade the rockers when you do a cam swap?

just means don't buy a thunder racing cam. so long as you have proper piston to valve clearance and spring control, going to larger ratio rockers will not limit you in cam choice

here's some actual dyno and track tested data to ponder over. vinci did a comparison of a comp cam and their cam. Project C5 AFR

    comp cam 224/224 .581.581 (1.7 rockers) 115 LSA vs vinci 055 cam 216/224 .583/.583 (1.8 rockers) 113 LSA

    http://vincihighperformance.com/beck...20tricker.html

the smaller cam with higher ratio rockers made more overall power. now, which would you rather have? and these cams were tested with the stock torque converter.

piston to valve clearance. you cant get moderate and above cams with a 1.8 rocker arm unless you fly cut the piston.

that means you cannot buy alot of proven cams, not just thunder.
to top it off, thunder doesnt make their own cams, comp cams does.

comp grinds thunder's specs for them. just like crane grinds vinci's cams for them.

just because you haven't heard of them, doesn't mean they are proven.
