    THE WS6 THAT COULD

    3 broken lug nuts?

well i was driving around last night and started to hear a few clicking sounds from the passenger rear wheel and my dad was behind me in his car and said that the wheel looked like it was shaking so i pull over and jack the car up in a parking lot and when i take the wheel cap off(aftermarket wheels) there are (3) broken wheel lug nuts rolling around inside so i was only rolling on 2 lug nuts in my back tire!!!!!!! does anyone know why these keep breaking this isnt the first time its happend on our cars. also does anyone know where i can get them fixed or where i can buy a whole new piece with 5 bolts...thanks

Yeah, who is putting your wheels on? Are they using a torque wrench or an impact gun?

i've never heard of this happening other then if someone intentionally loosened them or never tightened them properly. do you have any enemies? you'd have to literally hold an impact gun on them for like a really long time to tighten them so hard they strip out and even then its a long shot. i dont think anyone is THAT stupid, but anything is possible.

its possible you caught a thief early. I have an 80 Formula that someone replaced three and put Metric ones back in. It never dawned on me until I had a tire off and they all stripped. the tire flew off the car on the way home.

yea and see thats the thing...one of the lugs on each wheel are a lock and need a special key that i have to be taken off so the wheels cant be stolen...so on the wheel with the broken lugs all there are is the lock and one other lug and when i put the wheels on my car im pretty sure i used an 4-way for the front and i think i mite have used a air-gun for the back

an impact gun can break studs off if overtorqued. you might have to take out the axle to replace them. i am not sure if there is room to slide them in from the rear.

if they are not tightened properly this will happen. Go to your local autoparts store and get yourself three new ones and replace them. Not too hard to replace if i remember correctly
