I have just got my car dyno tuned and it is running great for the first time. Today I was driving my car back from school and I ran into a big prob. My car is an a4 and when in drive it will start reving like its in neutral and hardly move. It does the same when i put it into 3rd but when I put the car into 1st it starts fine no grinding or clunking sounds and in 2nd it starts fine. It is also making a grinding and clunking sound when in drive and 3rd at take off. I found this to be weird because usually when a transmission goes out you lose 1st gear 1st and the 2nd gear and etc, but those are fine. If anyone has any light to shed on the problem that would be greatly appreciated.
I do have a 3000 stall tci torque converter, shift kit, and trans cooler on the car. 65000 miles on the car. |

Sounds like you have burned the 3-4 clutches in your tranny

Does this usually happen because of normal wear and tear? Do you know how much this usually costs to fix.

my 2003 s10 is doing the same thing. (2.2 L 4l60e auto) and I know it's not because of horsepower! The 2.2 makes somewhere around 118 hp or so.
