yank pt 4000,new guy here

I just picked up this car and its had a lot done to it My question is this is my first built car with a 4000 stall. How many of you guys use this for street and strip.I need to get use to it for sure. Also when driving in town ,etc, does it make a differance if I use drive or should I use overdrive all the time.In drive does it lower the shift points, make them shift sooner or does it just do away with 4th gear.I should know this My tranny has amsoil synthetic fluid and fillter also. Here's a little info on my new ride.01 ws6,silver,auto with yank 4000 stall,DTS 12 bolt ,3:73,TA rear end cover,,complete BMR chrome moly suspension bolts on's,k&n,slp lid,bg ram air mod,mac headers, off road y pipe, magnflow catback,MSD wires,NGK plugs, smooth bellows, slp mass air flow, throttle body coolant by pass,160 stat,
2.02 1.575 manly racemaster valves with fully polished and ported heads Trend Fully hardend pushrods, COMP TI retainers, Dual Valve spring's
custom comp 228 236 588 578 114 ,ARP hardware,New Z06 gaskets.Around 400 RWHP at 6200 rpm and 360 torque at 5000 rpm,I think a good tune would give me better numbers.

Well, first of all, I can not belive the vehicle is running properly with that high of a stall, without a tune for it, especially an 01 & 02 with the increased Torque Management. I would not run synthetic oil in the 4l60E either. If you are running the stock shift points, the PCM most likely does not know what gear to go into.

It sounds like you have a nice setup though.

It was tuned after all the head and cam work was done to it at that time, but I do need to check and see if the car had the new stall converter in it at that time also.Synthetic tranny fluid no good, why is that ? Is it to thin ? I thought it would help.
