    Firebird = 3.8L V6
    Formula = 5.7L V8
    Trans Am = 5.7L V8 with all the trim

    It should say this on the auction.

    2000 Firebird Formula WS6

    Firebird Trans Am WS6 is styled different then the Firebird Formula WS6. They are both Firebirds. The Formulas were made to look like the V6 version until you open the hood and see the same LS1 as the Firbird Trans Am (so it sort of makes it a sleeper car), they made a limited amount of Formula WS6s simply because once you put on the Ram Air hood, it no longer is a "sleeper car". Formulas do not have the raised spoiler in the back and the fog lights are not centered around the licence plate. They are set wide next to the running lights. Formulas are slightly lighter in weight then Trans Ams, but not enough to really matter. Firebird Trans Ams are badged "Trans Am" on the door, and the Formulas are badged "Formula" Other then that there is no difference. You can check the pics on the website below for an example of a Formula WS6.

    in short, the differences between the formula ws-6 and the trans am ws-6 styling is the back hatch, and front bumper... and of course badging

    So many flavors of the WS6. Formula ws6, trans am ws 6, slp firehawk, trans am pilot, trans am maple leaf, gmmc black bird ws6, ws6 35th anniversary collectors edition, pace car ws6's... and who can forget the lovely Mike Laughlin/ Diversified Glass Products Trans Ams that race in the NASCAR IROC series. John Lingenfelter threw together a few nasty ws6's too.

    Personally, my favorite WS6 has to be an LS1 Formula with a T/A wing. Just mean looking I say.

    Our fine feathered friends over at firehawk.org have info and links on the trans Am Pilot edition and the Trans Am maple leaf. The y even get down to the nitty gritty on how many were made...and who owns them. Nice site to visit ifin' yer a T/A buff.
