I know it's not all that uncommon to do an LS1 swap into a classic. What I'm doing, however, I have yet to see.

The idea is to mount the cradle to the '57 frame. Then, fabricate and weld two hoops to the frame to mount the McPherson strut front suspension. I'm also going to remove the rear subframe of the WS6 and weld it to the frame rails of the '57.

The interior is going to be fun. The interior of the WS6 measures out to be an inch and a half narrower than the '57. The '57 is 7" longer though. So, what I plan on doing is cutting the floorpan of the WS6 and stretching it the required 7" to make it fit properly. The 1.5" difference in the width doesn't concern me too much. It's really only the dash anyway. The extra space will allow a much neater, tucked away look for the roll cage.

It should be fun. The only thing that won't be a WS6 on the car will be the body. Otherwise, I'm using everything. The wiring, the computer, the suspension, the drivetrain, the interior, the stero and speakers... everything.

I think it is a cool project and if you take your time it will come out well. My buddy Jon is doing the same thing. He is putting the HenryJ body on a SRT-4 Chasis. It should really fly when he gets it done.

That's going to be one bad Henry J. Hmmm.... That'd be hillarious to see the look on some poor ricers face if he beat 'em and then popped the hood.

That's the idea, lol. Jon does custom turbo kits and plans on making about 500 FWHP and close to the same torque in a car that may weigh 2200lbs.

Yep, not too far away. I'm also a member of MOFBA who has a few members in Rolla.
