Silver- 1999 Convertible SS
convertible replacement
I just shattered the rear window in my 99 convertible top. The factory original from the dealer (the fabric top assembly with the glass) is $5011 - Just to buy it at the parts dept. Are the aftermarket tops any good? They run about $700 with the glass.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
you should go to a good upholstery shop. they would be able to probably just replace the window. if not they can redo the entire top. i got a price for my old iroc convertible for 1500. that place does excellent work so if i kept the car i would have had it done.

I have a complete top with the frame and glass I'll sell you. It's off a 2002 low milage car. Email me if you are interested.

shattered glass
No, only the fabric with glass. 5-6 years ago it was about 1500. Talked more with parts dept today; they can sell me just the glass section (which means they should be able to install it) for $700. Of course, GMPartsDirect.com has it for about $330, but don't ship glass.

Thanks for the offer. The glass has a skirt arrangement bonded to it, would require shop effort to remove it then replace it. I just bought the new glass assembly from the dealer, wanted to keep it factory. The top, although 6 years old, looks practically new. I've always kept a cover on it outside.

The car only had 5900 miles on it when it was removed It's been in a box ever since.

Arctic White- 2001 Camaro convertible
I live in Florida and for most of the year, I don't have a garage to keep my car in. The sun and weather really puts a beating on the top. I had the top replaced at the beginning of this year (my car is a 2001). The local Chevy dealership here quoted me $2800 for a new top installed.
Look for local upholstery places. I got quotes from local shops and most of them said it would costs about $800-$1200 installed, including a new top mind you. I got a brand new top installed for around $836. The top cost around $430 and the rest was labor. Very reasonable.
Be sure to ask about warranties on the top. While most shops only warrant the work they do, there's usually also a warranty from the manufacturer of the top if the rear glass starts separating (that's what happend to my old top). So, even if the new top starts coming apart early, you should be able to get another one from the manufacturer, and if the shop is nice enough, maybe charge you nothing or a little to install the replacement.
