How much RWHP for my 408

Just checking to see if any one could give me an opinion on how much power my new motor will make.
408 6 speed
TSP 244/248 .612/.615 113 LSA
11:1
Stage 3 PRC 2.08/1.60
90mm FAST
90mm TB
FAST 36lb injectors

Yeah im kinda wondering the same thing because I just started building my 408/l92/l76 with a 242/248 610/618. I have seen anywhere from 470-540 but what i like about the 408s is the torque curve

I haven't looked at many numbers on the torque. Is the torque more than the hp? What part of NC are you from?

No i have only seen one occasion where the torque was higher but something had to have been wrong with the tune. The reason i like the torque curve is because they are making a lot of torque all throughout the rpm range. I live in Canton just west of Asheville, you must be just over the line?

Yeah, Im just across the hill on 26. Do you know of any good dyno shops in your area? Im going to drive about 150 miles to Decatur, Tennessee. Have you ever heard of Speed Engineering. Corvette Magazine rated them as the best tuning shop in Tennessee 2 years in a row.

Oh ok you are pretty close by, the only dyno shops in my area is WNC Speed and Custom located in Asheville just off of I-40 i think. That would probobly be a closer drive for you but i do not know how much experience they have so i would go to the one in Tenn. If you are interested in WNC then i can get you more info and dirrections.

u right on the mark bud! I did 488rwhp and 480tq but A4 stg and 3000 stall...
depends on what supporting mods, have to say 490s rwhp 490tq. get a 12 bolt rear end and tq arms and better suspension, you bust into 520-530rwhp like Mr Lous on M6.

Suspension plays no role in determining dyno numbers.

Drivetrain weight does. Driveshaft, rearend size, flywheel, etc...
M6 will dyno higher with the stock rearend in both cars.
If I had the stock rearend in mine...I would have probably seen 550 RWHP. 9" eats power.

Does a 9" use less HP than a 12 bolt to get moving. I think a 9" weighs a little less also. I could be wrong let know if I am.

As I understand it, the 9" takes more to turn and it is heavier.
But it isn't by very much.

And of course suspension matters on the street.

I was talking about the dyno....

If he had different heads I think he could do more...but I just havent seen the PRC heads do exceptionally well with the big cube motors. They do good on stock cubes motors, but not great. I dont know, maybe its the camshaft choice people have and they will do great for this guy, but I think better heads would be in order for bigger numbers. But you cant beat the price of the PRC's!!
