4L60E shift kit question

my buddy has a kit from when he had his 97 and its for a 4L60E, I was just wondering since I know the motor changed and on the box it says 93-97 4L60E. . . will this work in my 00 Trans Am A4?

Its a Trans Go kit # k61908E

TIA

I just looked for my Transgo box in the garage, and could not find it, however when I ordered the kit from "Thunder Racing" it came in as a 93-97 4L60E. I had the kit installed over a year ago in my 01 Z28, and have absolutly no problems with the vehicle.

I've wondered about these...I had one in my last car (TH350) but this is what Yank says about them...

10. Yank Performance Converters can achieve maximum performance and efficiency without the use of shift kits. Shift kits dramatically raise transmission line pressure to increase shift firmness. Increased shift firmness will not increase performance, but create unnecessary stress on the transmission and other drive-line components.

So are shift kits not smart to use? Will it over work and kill the un-built parts of my tranny? Please let me know.

TIA
