I just picked one up myself. It's a real fun truck.

Yea, now I miss the truck so bad I'm gonna have to ask one of the guys on base to take me for a drive. I made my friend PROMISE me that he will never get rid of his. He did say that he wants to do a paint job. What do we think of a dark blue?????

Sadly, I never liked the sound of that kind of charger. Always liked the sound of centrifical's better.

I was never a huge fan of the sound either. I used to wonder how the Cobra guys could stand it. It helps knowing it's the sound of 5xx ft lbs of torque at 2500 rpm.
I like centrifugals too but there are not any made ready to be used in an oem application where they need to last over 100k miles. I would prefer a turbo setup if money wasn't an issue.
As far as dark blue goes, Ford made "True Blue" Lightnings for a very brief period. That would look cool.

I kinda like it. He wants a nice color that is going to confuse people and I think that may work. I've seen a lot of different colors for lightnings, even green (and I don't think that lightning ever came out with a green one so I think the guy had it done) so my input was getting harder.

Not me I prefer the roots! I wish there was a way to put a magna charger on my Z28. Lightning vs SS silverado- Lightning all the way. The SS truck was highly disappointing to me. Now the new trailblazer SS different story stock vs stock should be very close for the rwd SS AWD = too much weight probably.

There are plenty of magnacharged f bodies out there. You need to trim a bit on the cowl area but they will fit.

I love these trucks. Just be careful when you start modding. Lotsa popped motors due to the weak rods. I had an 01 with johnny lightning chip, 4lb pulley, cold air, cal tracs. Went 12.55 @108 1.8 60' on stock tires. Was a monster on the street. Really easy to launch. Threw a rod about 5k miles after putting the stuff on. Just don't get greedy with the boost and keep the tune safe. The rods in those trucks remind me of the f body 10 bolt rears. Crap shoot whether it will hold up.
goodluck
