I'm pretty sure those are t-top bag tie-downs... how would that infant seat work??

anyways, I wish there was a way to independently-control the subwoofers in this system... but instead it takes the signal from the rears to power the subs... so I can't really cross them over properly...

Those clips are for securing the top teather of a front facing car seat. Basically a strap runs from the top of the seat and connects that clip.

As for the subwoofer, I think the speaker lines coming out of the amplifier for the subwoofers should already have only a low frequency output, since they are only feeding the subwoofers in the sail panels. Add this to the variable 70Hz - 170Hz crossover built into the subwoofer system and I think it should be pretty clean. I'll have to let you know after I get it installed.

They said pontiac only for the blue wire because camaros were not offered with steering wheel controls for the first years -when the diagrams were drawn up.
2nd The diagrams are 2000-down camaros. They match perfectly. Pontiacs do not match up, nor do the later camaros. There is no single wiring system that proves true for all f-body monsoon systems due to variations between the camaro and firebird, variations in the later year models, camaros not being offered with steering wheel controls and then suddenly offering them, and coupe/convertible differences. The diagrams are not incorrect when applied to the correct vehicle.

I've only verified the 2000 Camaro coupe speakers and amp pinout. My car does have steering wheel controls, although I didn't pull the HU to check the color of that wire.

Thanks to the original poster. Made my install a lot easier.

The crossover is built into the aftermarket Infinity subwoofer system that I will be installing as soon as I get around to it. The subwoofer system has an amp, a subwoofer, a couple of passive radiators, an amplifier, all in a tuned housing. It also has adjustable gain, adjustable crossover built in to it. You can feed it with RCA or speaker level inputs. I just figured it would be easy to install and would add some low end to the stock Monsoon system.

okay that makes more sense... from your earlier posts, I had no idea what you were talking about...

I was referring to the fact that there is no subwoofer input on the stock monsoon amp

My friend's ex has the old monsoon system lying around. I have a 95' Trans Am. Is it possible to use the head-unit and the amp and keep my current speakers.

Also she doesn't know where the amp is located in her car v6 firebird (she left it in there).

the diagrams are for a 2000 camaro, i believe...so i'm going to say don't rely on them for help; but if you can do all your own wireing, yeah you could make it work.

as for the v6, it should be under the glove box.

passenger-side wheelwell and yes there are adapters you can buy but it's a horrible idea to use an aftermarket amp on the stock headunit... the stock unit clips badly, which will kill your speakers in no time.

i'd be very interested in a monsoon H/U, depending on condition and price. Send pics to e-mail jwsft@aol.com. Also, would like to hear the answer to the question about wiring.

Uh... there's no such thing as a 'monsoon' headunit.... Well, I mean there's a monsoon faceplate, so I guess you're right, but there's no difference in ANY wiring, or any internals or anything from a standard headunit...

Monsoon means everything else is 'upgraded,' but not the headunit itself.

So to putting it in a non-monsoon car should work just fine... Only question I have for you is why would want to do that in the first place...

Doesn't the Monsoon H/U put out 500 watts compared to less output in the stock H/U?
