Depends on what your goals are.

    What size cam?

Depending on how big of a cam a stall converter might be a better choice.

Have you done anything with the suspension yet?

They do make bolt-ons, as well as weld-ins. If you can do it yourself, or afford to have a decent shop do it, I'd recommend the weld ins.

If you can afford it, ditch the KYBs and get some Konis. About 20 mins of research will inform you that short of a premium coil-over suspension (such as KW), Konis are the way to go for the 4th gens (I speak based on research, here; I've never experienced KYBs, myself).

Besides that, I'd seriously think about a clutch upgrade if you're still running the LS1 clutch. My car makes around 360/360 at the wheels and I run an LS7 clutch (which we know is good for at least 505 at the crank). Also, before you start putting too much power through that crankshaft, I'd look at beefing up that T56, too. And keep the rear end in the back of your mind as something that may have to be dealt with.

Also, what year is your car? You may be able realize some more power by bolting on an LS6 intake if you don't already have one.

Wait, do you mean LS6 clutch? Or, what are you referring to being an 01?

He could be running the LS7 clutch, they have become the OEM replacement for fbodies and GTO's.

A nice set of cylinder heads would do wonders for your setup. If you're on a budget, check the classified section on the LS1 forums. If you're patient, you can find a good deal on aftermarket heads like AFR, TFS, MAST, etc.

The only problem doing a set of heads on a decade old engine is the possibility of finding a scored cylinder bore, or something else, if the person hadn't budgeted bottom end work.

What is your budget? That's always the first thing to answer. Without assuming what that is, I would recommend the following mods:

    - sub-frame connectors
    - rear lower control arms w/relocation brackets
    - rear pan hard bar
    - an aftermarket torque arm which will also relocate the mounting of the tailshaft of the T56 off the torque arm (reduces the stress on the T56).
    - be prepared to upgrade the rear-end at some point if you're still running the 10-bolt
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.
