Morning. CEL is back on, same code. P050D rough idle cold start. No specific cylinder misfire this time. I will probably go ahead and take it in again today. Since it is the beginning of the week, maybe I'll have it fixed (if they do anything this time) and back sooner than last time.

Funny thing, your money lending conversation got me to thinking. Seems like the people who've burned me the most on paying me back, were some of my closest friends at the time, and family.

My mom owes me money for some Odoban I bought her at Sam's. 10 bucks is 10 bucks Mom! Pay up!

I've seen it before, and actually have a Malibu that has come back twice for this concern. We ended up replacing an injector.

It's either a fuel injector, injector circuit, or low voltage on start up. The start up dual pulse injection only occurs on cold starts, and for only 100 seconds. And that's the only time the code can set.

The service manager came out and put a computer on it. Said that it was dumping fuel when the code popped. Some number being at -10. They didn't have any loaners so I just had him reset the codes again for now. Car is running ok but gas mileage is starting to suffer now. No codes yet, but I bet the light comes back on before the end of the week. I'll probably take it back and drop it off before my Vegas trip next week. Thanks for sharing Andy, I'll bring it up next time. They said they bench tested the injectors last time, but we'll see.

Does GM have a new injector tester for the direct injection stuff? I only messed with the Idis a couple times on an ecotec Malibu and an Coloraydo

No. The service procedures basically have you rule out everything else, and if everything else passes, to replace the injector on the affected cylinder.
