    98 firebird headlights

Hello everyone! This week I installed new metal gears in my firebird. After installing them today the grinding is gone! But know when ever you start the car the lighysterical go up and there's no way of getting them back down. Is this normal? Maybe a problem fixed by the gears? If not how do I fix it? Thanks!

Did you manually lock them in the up position when you did your gears?

Yes I did. Do the lights come up automatically at night?

Mine don't. Have you tried manually putting them back after you swapped the gears? Might be a wiring issue as well.

Yes I have. I tried them last night when it was dark. I'll try them again today to see if they stay down. I also found this. Maybe the same on firebirds? Head lights come on automatically - LS1TECH

I checked them again today and they still go up when you start it. I don't know what it is. Maybe the control module? If it is the wiring where could it possibly be.

I was reading through the owners manual and found this:For Canadian vehicles, a light sensor on top of the
instrument panel automatically turns the headlamps on,
so be sure it isn’t covered.
For Canadian vehicles, when it’s dark enough outside,
your front turn signal lamps will go out and your
    headlamps will come on.
This may be it. Could the sensor be blocked maybe? I will have to check next week as mother nature spontaneously dumped 2 feet of snow on us
