What kind of adhesive for vinl

DOES anyone know what kind of adhesive i can use to attach vinyl to the dash just in front of the instrument bezel? i want to cover a crack and not willing to replace the whole dash. a dozen or so years ago i didn't like the look of the plastic side pieces in the rear of my vert. so i covered them with vinyl. they still look good. but i can't remember what kind of adhesive was used. any help?

Contact adhesive should work. Just make sure you clean the dash well to remove and protectants that may be left on it.

thanks. will contact cement hold up in sw florida heat?. car is garaged except when at work where it gets "baked" six to eight hours a day.

It should. I have used it on speaker boxes in the trunk of the car. The vinyl might deteriorate faster. Find some marine grade vinyl. It will hold up better in the sun. Most upholstery shops should be able to sell you some by the yard.
