Window motor control panel keeps popping off

I've been fighting the driver's side panel for many years now, figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has any tips/trick to overcome this little bastard. I've tried to bend the little retainer clips out to keep them from slipping but it doesn't seem to matter - there's just too many wires behind it trying to push it back out. I'm willing to go as far as screwing it down if someone can recommend a point to hold it in place.

Try pulling some back into the panel. It shouldn't be that much.

You might want to check to see if the plastic "bar" for lack of a better description, is still there. It should be a plastic piece that the tab pushes into to latch on.

Use something to push the excess wire down in the hole a bit. You could put a few dabs of silicone on it to hold it down. Just tape it in place overnight.

Thanks for the advice. I took the door panel off and re-positioned the glue blob (for lack of a better term) holding down the base of the wiring lower on the door frame. Less extra wire pressing against the panel. I also bent out the clips a little bit again. The panel sits down a little tighter than before and hasn't popped off in a couple of days, so *cross fingers* I hope it holds on for a while.

You can also go with some 3M double sided adhesive tape too, my old shop would use that stuff for everything from emblems to door trim.
