98 z28 m6 3-4 shift grind
Hey guys , new to the forums here and the ls engines altogether . I built a 10 second 93 z28 years ago so I know the basis of what it takes to make these car handle power and put it down . My previous car was a 4l60 which I got real familiar with where as this old girl is 6 speed . I'm getting a grind when quick shifting gears between 3rd and 4th and I mm pretty sure that it's syncros. The sound seems to come right below the shifter . What's involved in fixing this issue and is there anything else it could be ? I want to fix this problem before I go mod crazy .. Thanks in advance

If you are going to have to tear into the transmission anyway you may as well go through it and install upgraded parts where required.

Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A w/ mods, 00 FBVert
If it's a stock mc then you need to investing into a Tick Performance MC. Stock one at high rpm/rapid shifts are know to have issues. Something with the orifice not letting the fluid return fast enough.
There is a drill mod you can do but if you screw it up you're buying a new mc.

You will also want to replace the 3-4 shift fork, that from the factory is aluminum and there is a TSB on them getting bent, with a steel one. I also had the drill mod done on my stock MC and it helped a lot.

that was years ago, my local dealer did a rebuild on mine in 2003 or 04. That was under warranty.

Yup, the synchros, slider keys, 3-4 fork, rails and output shaft are all weak links of the T56.
