    mail order tune

looking for the best mail order tune i have heard good things on other ls forums about tunedbyfrost I have a moddified ls1 2001 trans am. I recently built the engine with these moddifications.

    1. 243 port and polished to 61.5cc 10.9:1 compression by Phil at Advanced Induction
    2. Custom ground cam by Phil Advanced Induction Specs. 228/237 114LSA .626/.626 1.6 Advance
    3. Kooks 1 7/8" into 3" collectors Long tube headers
    4. 4L60E Trans w/2500 Stall converter.
    5. Stock 2.73 gears with will be changed sometime later to 3.73

how close will a mail order tune get me so as i can break the engine in then get a full dyno tune.

Talk to Frost. I'm sure he has a tune that would work for you.

With those mods, I would probably be looking for a dyno tune. Frost does great work - we run one of his mail order tunes in our car.

+1 with pajeff. The guy that does my work would put that right on a dyno. I just have a few bolt ons, headers and exhaust - he said I'd just be wasting money on a dyno until I went heads and cam etc.

I would always take the word of those who have had a good experience with a company or individual. Time and location and circumstances likes like on the dyno are factors as well. Have you tried LT1swap.com Brendan has an email and phone number. He is located in MO. I will put my two cents on him as a straight shooter as well.
