Replaced speakers & still get popping
Figured the stock (Fronts in doors), 2000 Z28 w/Monsoon, speakers were done since one was popping. Replaced them with some new Pioneer speakers & still popping. Anyone able to solve this problem?
Stock amp, stock rear speakers, Pioneer door speakers & Pioneer head unit.

I have replaced one or two in our car and that always solves the problem. Connection or wiring issue?

The stock Monsoon system for the Camaro is 2 ohm for the mids in the door and 4 ohm for the tweeters mounted coaxially in the door. But, the mids are powered off the amp at 2 ohm and the tweeters off the stock Monsoon HU at 4 ohm. Since you are still using the stock amp, those speakers are being powered at 2 ohm. Are your new speakers 4 or 2 ohm?

Oh... Sorry about that, I didn't know you had a vert. I remember there being slight differences. Let me see if I can find any info I have saved on the vert wiring. As far as being able to tell which is which after having already removed your stock speakers, you would need to check the ohm on the wires.

Apparently there is a small difference between our cars and it's the sail panel speakers. Not the doors.
The first thing I had to do when I bought my car was replace the speakers. I opted to have the tweeters mounted separately up top on the pillars and learned that the stock speakers in the doors were powered by both the HU and the amp. I had to find 2 ohm subs and recall that there wasn't a whole lot of choices at the time. The rear speakers are 4 ohm for both the vert and the coupe and the easiest for sure to replace

No, the rears are 4", single wire and are attached by twist type rivets.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
The rears are the same as the fronts. Just be careful on depth of the rear speakers. Too deep and the top mechanism hits the magnet.
