    Nice. I want to do this with mine as all my wheels have pitting clear coat and rough spots.

    I used klean strip aircraft paint remover...stripping them was easy, polishing them took a little time!

    Definitely one of my thoughtful improvements. The only other thought of it is to have it re-cleared or not if I do.

    I noticed now on my PC that your second photo down, the shade view with the Nitto tire, has a manufactured date of the 23rd week of 2006 ( the D.O.T. 5wy2306. Update them! Its not worth the risk of getting hurt or hurting that WS6

    Hey Darren,

    I did this with my Speedlines and once they were sporting a mirror shine i
    pondered on re clearing.

    After a LOT of looking around nobody would accept the job as they all
    said the wheels are too slick for good adhesion?! That is to say they were
    not given a rub over with wet and dry for a good key

    I know.... GM did it from new but you may have trouble in
    finding somebody to spray on a new clear coat.

    I keep mine good by using a polymer sealant called "Optimum Opti-Seal".

    Damn good product!

    I'll never buy aftermarket clear coated wheels again. factory stuff lasts decently long, but the aftermarket stuff is junk imo.

    As long as you apply a sealer type polish to the aluminum, and keep them clean, they'll stay shiny for a long time. No need to shoot clear on them imo.

    Yup it sucks imo too. Debating stripping the lips of mine since they are just clear coated and polishing them since spots of clear are starting to fail after 2 years and a tire shop left a nice gouge in the clear on one of them.
    Mods - Lid, Skip Shift Eliminator, MGW shifter, UMI SFCs, Founders Lower Control Arms, Founders Panhard Bar, Founders Adj. Torque Arm, UMI Torque arm mount, MWC Drive shaft safety loop, KONI Yellows, Strano Springs, Strano Sway bars, UMI Upper and lower A Arms, 160 thermostat, TSP headers and TSP true duals Monster stage 2 clutch, racetronix fuel pump, Strange S60 rear axle and tune by Frost.
