I was able to knock out my yard when we rolled home this afternoon. Looks like rain in the forecast for the next three days or so.

This was 4 houses down from me. Lucky all were not hurt. Fire Investigator will be out this morning. At first it's suspected fireworks were the cause but they were done firing 2 hrs prior to this. Earlier in the day the homeowner was doing some work around the AC unit that the power from the street comes into the house. Talking with him he's not sure if he hit the power lines or not. So there's some debate on what started it. I kinda hope it was the ac and not the fireworks. His insurance might not cover it if the later.

That house fire sucks, that's one thing that scares the shit out of me especially having a older home. And to the fireworks thing had a friend get badly burned on the 4th. They were lighting off a bunch of stuff and when they got to their grand finally he said the second the fuse sparked it went off burning his arm 2nd and 3rd degree as well as his face and neck. Arm was the worst he ended up in Pittsburgh Hospital's burn unit for 3 days.
Hope all works out for them

A few years back around the 4th of July a man in the city of Cudahy WI was having fun with fireworks and flares. He ended up starting a meat packing plant on fire and half the city had to be evacuated for multiple days. Luckily with help of other cities fire fighters the fire was contained after days of burning. I drive though Cudahy on my way to and from work, smelled like burning pig grease for what seemed like weeks.

I enjoyed today slept in until 9:30 worked on my All Star softball teams line up for tonight's game, had lunch and went out in the garage for the afternoon. Had a game and was one out away from a win until the rain shut us down. Man I could totally retire if I was able. It's no wonder the welfare assholes don't want to work...

I have enough projects laying around (or parked around) to keep me busy for the rest of my life. Problem is, a welfare check won't go very far towards buying a long block crate motor, or a 5 speed transmission, or a new interior...
