Been non-stop in the garage lately I swear. Replaced 3 of the 4 ball joints on the truck, going to pick up a 4th tomorrow and just fkkin' change it since I need an alignment anyways. The wheel bearing is changed. Waiting til tomorrow to pick up the brake line I busted and pick up some metric line wrenches (fuckin' fucks) and get the truck done. Changed the master cylinder on the car, got things all bled out ready to rock n roll, and still have a squishy pedal. Rear brakes were out of adjustment, pulled the drums and the newish (<3000 miles) shoes are cracked almost the full length down the center (drag strip? I had cracked fronts too), so I've got those on the way. Noticed this spring on the first few outings I had a metallic grinding noise in the front of the car. Discovered today that it was the harmonic balancer rubbing on the timing cover. Made a phone call to our local engine zohan and he thinks the balancer is coming apart. Upon closer inspection I do see what appears to be a 'fresh' area of rubber around the outer ring of the balancer indicating that it's probably worked itself loose and is moving backward and off the center mass. Time for a new one! What...it's just money, right?

I had grand plans to move cars around up at the building and unload the Corvette from the trailer... but they all ended up just being plans. Another night.

So I got my own place now. Just haven't moved yet. Since I'm stuck paying the last 3 months rent on my place with the roommate, should I be a crazy vindictive bitch to him? He continually pisses me off everyday.

I need to know more before I can give you good advice. Is he staying after you leave? If so my suggestion would be 2-3 raw chicken thighs dropped down a couple upstairs registers the day you leave. I did that once at a apt I was moving out of that wouldn't give me back my deposit. Wonder which was cheaper? My deposit or paying someone to come in and try to figure out what the smell was then finding out where it was then tearing walls apart to get to the ducts? I'm not a math guy but I'm going to guess my deposit would've been the way to go for them.

Zap - just ask Dawn, brakes are overrated... Lots of life left in those!
Good thing you caught the balancer going bad before it did some real damage. I sent the W-31 balancer out to California for an elastomer rebuild as it is a W-31 specific part.
