I just drove my brothers car a week or so ago with et streets on the back and they did ok. 1st gear was pretty useless and had to feather it through 2nd but after that they did fine haha. He put down a little over 600 to the wheels.

Yep, like I mentioned, the ET Street Radials are the tire of choice for any class requiring a radial tire. Guys are putting down well over 1,000 HP and running deep into the bottom 7 second zone dragging the rear bumper with these tires.

They work, and work good, but you also need a chassis setup to handle the HP properly, the tire part is easy.
Years ago when they created the 275 radial class they thought the size of the tire would limit the power they could put down and keep ET's reasonable. That didn't last long, lol.

Sounds good. I was about dead hooking with Nittos after I got the car rolling a little in 1st gear with 4.11 rear end gears so I'd like to think I'll stick it pretty well out of the gate with these M/T tires with the suspension setup I have.

As far as the fronts go...any reason as to why they say the 275/40R17 won't fit in the Street Comps? I think that's just an error.

If I recall, they are a 25.6 inch diameter tire which is the stock tire spec.

    I'm sure it's a typo. That's the stock size for any 4th gen SS/WS6.

There's a lot to suspension setup. Spending the money for all good pieces is an excellent start. Then it has to be dialed in with correct instant center, weight transfer etc... Chassis shops can do this or if one knows and understands how it works you can make your own adjustments at the track until you find the direction that works for the car in question.

I am running 285/40/17s on a x9.5 wheel all the way around, and they are 26.1 inch tire height and wider to boot. I can't see any 275/40/17 not fitting the front.

Thanks guys. I'll be ordering the Street Comps this weekend. Appreciate the info.

Jeff - that's correct on the tire height.

BFG sport comp 2. Great in the rain and have excellent grip. Very strong sidewall for handling. I'm on my second set.

I only put about 2K miles on the car a year so wear is not a major concern. As info, I will be running Mickey Thompson ET Streets for the rears.

Running a stock rim size on the SS - 17".

Also - I am looking to buy them on Amazon as I have enough points to get them free so I am somewhat restricted for choices. I see: Yokohama, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Pirelli, Nitto, Kumho, Dunlop, Goodyear and a few other brands to choose from.
    You already know my vote....

PS - it looks like Amazon was kind enough to charge my Amazon credit card $877.80 instead of using my points for the order. Even after I called them, twice, to ensure points would be used. Even called my credit card company twice. That's lovely lol.

Looks like a 5th call will be made to get my credit card credited for the things I ordered...smh.

I hear ya. Luckily, my credit card company informed me last night that even if Amazon puts the order through on my card, my CC company can issue a credit on my statement using my points. Looks like it'll work out either way, but what a pain in the ass.

It's the first time I ever had an issue with Amazon. I also ordered myself a power washer.
