No codes ls6 intake map sensor is new, cheap eBay one but new. I don't know what codes previous tuner tuned out need to make sure that's not one.

I was asking because it sounds so much like my issue with my intake. I had what turn out to be an 8" vacuum leak and a broken map sensor. The nuts on the back of my 102 vibrated off and at idle it would be ok, but between idle and 2500 rpms it sucked, then after it climbed out of 2500 it would surge and be rock solid the rest of the way up.
Once I was able to find it and fix my tuner had it tuned in 20 mins.
