Hard to get in 2nd/3rd gear
Been noticing that it's been harder to get into 2nd and 3rd gear, I usually shift from 1st to 3rd but when I do that it doesn't want to go in so I let it go to neutral and then try 3rd and then it'll go in smoothly, this also happens with 2nd gear. This is my first manual car so I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
Thanks for the help

Are you shifting at low rpms or does it do this at any rpm?

Well for 1st to 3rd around 3k rpm, it's only for first to third or first to second tho, 4-6 feels all smooth

How many miles on the transmission?
Starting to sound like syncros are due to replacement.

Just got the car with 75k miles on it, so I have no clue, how much is it to replace the syncros? If so could I do it myself, and your saying that it's not the shifter's fault, I was thinking about ordering a mgw shifter to fix the problem. It's kinda weird, I'll try to go in third from first and at first it won't go in, then I'll let it go back to neutral for a second and then it'll slid right in

It could be on the off chance that the clutch and slave are due for replacement. About 75k is the life of a LS1 clutch depending on how much abuse it had. Little to normal driving it can last like mine did to 108,000 miles, hard launches, heavy track abuse....as little as 50,000.
Does it grind when you shift?
When you are shifting do you have to feather the rpms and jiggle the shifter to get it into gear?
If so then I'm 90% certain it's syncros.
Can you do it yourself, not unless you have access to transmission tools and have experience in working on transmissions. Its not something that is easy to do. Trust me I know. I just had mine rebuilt. It's best to have a pro do it. Sorry but not cheap, you're looking at around $1000 for a rebuilt. And that's if you drop it and take it in to the shop otherwise add another $200-$300.

The clutch and the master was just replaced and there was no grinding . I just went back out on a test drive and I think I figured out the problem, when I go from 1-2 i was pushing too left and I think that's why it's getting stuck, if I go straight down from 1 to 2 it goes straight in, I'm guess it's just a newbie mistake and I'm learning how to drive manual on this car, would a new shifter fix this problem, I always push left and down when I go from 1-2 to preventing it going to 4th gear.

New shifter won't hurt.
The MGW and the Pro 5.0 are two of the best shifters for the T56.
Both will let you set you shift locks so you don't push/pull to far on the shifter.
You can try a new shifter but keep in the back of your mind about what I said, if it still is a problem then you know where to go.

I have the Pro 5.0 shifter and like it very much. Some other members also have the MGW shifter and fell the same.
