    Suction Gun

    This is just one of those tools that everyone needs in their garage. Too many of our vehicle have manual transmissions, transfer cases, and/or differentials that are all but impossible to fill out of the bottle, even with a piece of rubber hose. Using the suction gun makes the job so much easier. Extract the plunger, unscrew the top, pour in the fluid, attach the top and then slowly push the plunger in to force the fluid out. When it empties, pull the plunger back a bit to draw the fluid in the hose down and then fill it again. The body of the gun holds 1/2 quart, so it only took me 5 times to fill the 12 bolt on our Trans Am.

    I have a similar tool from Amsoil that I pump it to fill the differential up. It screws on to the bottle itself.

    yep.....I have one of these. Makes filling that rearend cakewalk compared to not using one. Only like $20 too if I remember correctly. Worth every penny.

    Yep, I have both version posted here. Only problem with the little bottle pumper is that they (the one I have) only fit the bottle with the really large screw on lids and not the normal oil bottles you find in the store.

    The metal one Jeff posted is my favorite to use and easier to clean when finished. It's also great for sucking out old fluid when you don't have a drain plug (like the stupid IRS setups in older corvettes that only have a "fill" plug)
    My only complaint on the metal pumper Jeff posted is when doing something thin like transmission ATF, it will eventually leak past the seals and run down your arm so you have to work fast. I use it to fill the trans in my wifes 6 speed 4th gen all the time.

    ^^ Not sure if you meant to post that here -- we're discussing suction guns for extracting and installing fluids in tight places.

    I have seen the Wagner paint guns advertised, but have never tried one out. How tough are they to clean up after the job is done?

    I had a Wagner paint gun I used to paint the last house we had. It was an electric version. Sounded like a jack hammer when you pulled the trigger, lol. But worked good for quite a while. Eventually the electric motor died in it. Haven't had another one since.

    It has no problem with heavy weight gear oil. With some lipstick and and a softer hose on the end... you're probably good to go for "your purposes".

    I got this little gem and cut down the hoses drilled a hole in a oil bottle cap just slightly smaller for a tight seal and I pump right from the bottle. Works well with a good fit the bottle collapses and you can remove almost every drop of oil from bottle.
