called out for an 1/8 mile

Basically I was called out on labor day for an 1/8 mile run against a bolt on m6 lt1. How do the odds look for me I'm auto bolt on 3.73 rear gear. I figure I'm in trouble.

I think you have him unless your aluminum headers melt

Your car should run in the 12.8-13.1 range depending on your 60ft.

The LT1 has less potential than an LS engine.

They make good TQ down low and feel strong but the LS pulls like a freight train all through the range because of a better head design.

You said 12.8-13.0 range? You know I'm an a4 with stock stall right? Also what would the 1/8 times be with my car cause that's all we have to race on labor day.

8.5-9.0 in the 1/8th on a decent launch.

My 99TA went 12.8's before the converter, consistently in the 12.3-12.4 range now with really good air getting 12.2's

Do a best of 3 or 5 the guy with the highest trap speed gets the final lane choice after alternating lanes in races 1,2,3,4.

You have the advantage of being able to power brake while he has the feather the clutch off the line. I betting on you bud.

alright then I'm getting more confident now, I talked to the guy yesterday and he has zero faith in a win. he was also saying that the 8.5-9.0 second seems low I think hes crazy. at any rate he said his frind has a super fast boosted civic so I might get a rice race this weekend I've never raced any imports yet, just mustangs.

Be careful, those little shit cans can run when boosted and the fwd helps them off the line. Good luck.

Throw a little shot of NOS on it just to be safe!! LOL I think you are gonna win by 3 car lenths in the 1/8. As for the civic, BEWARE. If has 20lbs or more boost, it could be ugly for you.

Well I had two races with the Lt and I lost the first run... reaction time killed me I ran a 9.571 just couldn't hook up for shit if it was a quarter he wouldn't have stood a chance after I hooked up I pulled hard on him his eyes about popped out of his head. Second run same story but my reaction was a .7ish his a 1.3 or so so I got him that time overall I was surprised how bad the track was. Still a fun day though.
