    SLP Loudmouth I or II

    Hey,

Im new here and I just bought a 98 Trans Am auto that is totally stock. Eventually im going to put on the normal mods like exhaust, airbox, chip, etc. I dont plan on putting headers on and I plan I keeping the cats. My question is im thinking of going with the SLP loudmouth catback exhaust but i dont know what to get, loudmouth I or II. Ive heard from a few the Loudmouth exhaust are to raspy with headers and no cats. But what does it sound like with manifolds and cats on.

LOUD! I had a set on my car for about a week and , took it off. It sounded good at idle and WOT. During normal shifting it was very raspy between 2500 and 4000 rpm. I do like the sound of the Loudmouth 2. It's loud too but, doesn't seem anywhere near as raspy.

The original Loudmouth, all the way! Mine isn't raspy at all, guess it depends on your engine if it likes it or not. I don't plan on changin headers and no cats though...sounds awesome from start-up to WOT! Neighbors probably don't appreciate it at 4:00 AM.....but.....too bad!!!

Original LM will drone you out. Mine has a Bullet replacement resonator which lowers the drone and I still want to change it. Caveat, if it's not a daily driver and u like it REAL loud, do the original.

Haven't heard a LM2 but have only heard good things about it.

Mine is loud and nasty with L/T's, ory pipe, and L/M is way to loud. I'm going to put a Borla XR1 race muffler in it just to take some of the rasp out of it. Other than that I love the sound.

from personal experience, it sounds like a hard ass with manifolds and cats but when you get headers and no cats it sounds like an old man coughing and hacking. its loud as hell with manifolds and cats.

I love my loudmouth, I got a custom Y pipe put in and it got rid of some of the rasp.

With headers+ cats my camaros too loud+ drones at around 2000RPMS with the 1s. I might try the y-pipe trick.

Orig Loudmouth sounds great with no headers... leave cats on you need a little back flow, the exhaust will have no backflow!! when you get on it, it will scream....but when you are not on the throttle its not that loud ...and not that raspy at all!!
