Underside of our K-member and the rack was oiled up fairly good. Thought for sure mine was leaking, but after cleaning it all up and running the car for 2 years, she is still clean and dry. Had to be the pan gasket leak that junked up the rack.

Don't forget to take pics as you go, please.

I'm pretty sure it's the r&p. I constantly had to add fluid to the PS pump. I know it wasn't leaking from there or the hoses because I had already changed them out.

Sold the LS1 intake, so I'm able to get this.

    LS1 alternator relocation bracket kit

Relocates the Alternator to the passenger head where the EGR used to be. No more PS Pump leaks killing my alternator

I know it's a little pricey for most, but after paying for 2 alternators in a yr I got feed up.

That's kind of cool. Although I feel it may reduce working space on that side. Then again my power steering has never leaked or anything, I may feel differently if it had.

If you looked at the pics on that link I don't think it will remove as much as you think, The EGR for such a small part took a ton of room.

I just realized that my catch can will need to be relocated to another spot. I had it sitting in the same spot that this is going to.

If/when I swap to a truck alternator I will need to clock the oil fill tube in order to clear the larger alternator.

Another bonus is I don't have to worry about drilling/tap the block to fit the alternator anymore.

Also if you are going to do a turbo build you'll need to do this. The turbo guys use truck exhaust heads and flip the exit towards the front. When you do this the alternator is now in the way.

NA for me. When you hook it all up I'd love to see photos. I guess since I don't have the HVAC anymore it couldn't even be in the way at all.

It gets really hot up here too but I have a high heat and cold tolerance, sometimes its hotter than or just as hot as Florida. But not as hot on a regular basis as where you are located.

Don't forget to toss an unrecognizeable chunk of metal into the oil pan for good measure.

I think you mean the arp rod bolts in the pic, horrible lighting when I took the pics, hard to believe it was 10am when I took that. Rain clouds so damn dark it blocked the sun out.

Had my son help me drill out the rivets on the engine mounts so we could paint them.

Comparison between factory and poly mounts (Energy Suspension)

Had no issues getting the rubber out, it fell apart once the rivets were gone. Makes me think how much longer these would have held up. I don't remember the block shifting around.

I have to say I'm having fun teaching my son these little things. Whether he knows it or not it's going to help him later. on.

Rewired the Alternator wire (to the PCM) from the drivers side to the passenger side along the fuel rail wire loom. This is prep for moving the alternator to the passenger head.

Does anyone know where I can get another one of these. I showed the local parts ppl and I got a deer in the headlights look.

I also cleaned up the k member some and look there's a rack & pinion......couldn't see it before under all the grim.

Now I have a dilemma....The high pressure hose at the r&p was loose, I mean very loose. I know I checked in the past and it was tight. Now I'm wondering if this is the leak? If I leave it then I have the nightmare of trying to fix it with the block over it. What to do? :

Check local junkyards in your area if you can't find one, its a standard GM plug you can find on most smaller cars. I picked up a spare just in case i ever break mine.
