2000 Camaro Z28 A4 vs 2013 5.0 A6 - REMATCH!

Well, a few weeks ago I randomly ran into the kid with the 5.0 that I raced a couple months back. He chased me down and asked if I wanted to roll race again. He has a Tune and CAI on his car now, along with his Borla cat-back. So, obviously he wanted to see the difference it made. I nicely obliged and followed him to the edge of town.

Anyway, we made our way to the outskirts of town and lined up from a 50 roll this time(my sweet spot hehe) on the 4 lane. 3 honks and we are off like a slut's panties on prom night. It's dead even until about 90-100, then the 5.0 starts to slowly pull on me. By 150 mph when we shut it down, he had about 1 car on me but wasn't really pulling on me anymore after 120 or so when my 3rd gear RPM's got up there. I knew that I was probably going to lose this time, even from my sweet spot. I just hoped to keep up decently and I did quite nicely! We pulled over in another parking lot and chit chatted for awhile about our cars. That's all, folks!

5.0's suck

I felt the same way about 5.0 mustangs until I drove my friends 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 with 435 hp. It felt like a high 12 low 13 sec. beast and was actually fun to drive. At almost 40k though it is a little pricey. These cars are going to depreciate quickly so I would say if you want one wait three years and buy one used with under 50k miles they should go for somewhere in the mid 20's. Same with Camaro SS.

A high 12 low 13 second beast? LS1 F bombs where doing that nearly 20 years ago, bone stock.

The 6th gen camaro SS is going to shit all over the 5.0 coyote. Especially the 8 speed autos. Low 12's @ 116-117 mph, BONE stock. 11s with just tires.
