Black N Gold- 02 WS6 / Ls6 with mods.
Spring spacers
Bought an 02 ram air thats lowered with Eibach and KYB , i'm assuming 2" cause it's in the weeds . Looks mean but rides like s**t hits hard over bumps. My question is has anybody out there ever used spacers and what did you think. Or has anyone used stock springs with KYB shocks . Just looking for a quick and inexpesive fix . Not into road racing , maybe straight line fast here and there.
Thanks

Adding the spacers will make it ride hard as hell. Springs aren't that expensive. About $350 will get you Hotchkins or Strano springs.
Stock springs aren't that bad if you just want something for the road. Post in the Parts Wanted section that you are looking for OEM springs. Someone here has got to be doing a spring swap some time.

I have front/rear OEM springs out of my 02 SS. Removed them at 12K miles when I upgraded the shocks/springs on the car.
Let me know if you're interested.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

If 35-ANV-SS doesn't have his springs, I still have mine if you are. I pulled them when I got the car in 99, and replaced the stock V8 springs with stock 1LE springs. As far as stock springs with KYB, I just put KYB adjustables on the rear this weekend, and will do the front with KYB over the holidays. I'll have to post up when I'm done and have a few miles on the new shocks.

I also have a buddy that has his stock springs from a 2001 SS. We replaced them last year with aftermarket set. I think the car had less then 20k on it.

The 1LE springs, also used on the WS6 were the highest rate stock springs at 360# front and I believe 114-130# variable rear. When I put mine on, even thought the springs were much shorter than the base V8 springs, the ride height increase by 1/4".
As a side note, after replacing the front end bushings, ball joints, KYB adjustable shocks and struts, and a driveway alignment, the car is much more composed on bumpy corners. Much better than my previous 1LE DeCarbon NOS shocks and struts.

Our cars only have shocks, not struts.

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
Threads like this are why I'm leaning towards coilovers. Way more adjustable no matter what spring you get.

I've been thinking the same, incidentally. But... that's a long way off.

My shop has mentioned to me about having the fab' shop next to him making me either an inch or half-inch billet "spacer" that will go between the front lower control arms shock mount bracket and the the shock (where the bolts go through) to help add height. What d'yall think of that idea?

I would love coil overs but I would prefer to just have a good spring and a not-slammed stance. Eibach Prokit or Sam Strano.

I believe that the "technical" difference is related to the control arm suspension up front. Our cars have double wishbone up front, so they use shocks (like a coil over, I guess...).
