Good tool to add to the collection. I use my laser temp gun quite a bit on our cars. You can easily verify your engine coolant temp and trans temp with them.

Easy to find the dead cylinder too, just look for the coolest running exhaust pipe

Mine is shaped more like a gun, love that thing. Great for all kinds of uses. You can even aim it on your kids forehead and take his/her temperature

I like to point the laser at people's shirts or paperwork from across the shop. Its funny when they start looking around and can't figure out where the laser is coming from.
