First race in my new car!

So this race happend three weeks ago but I'm just now getting the post up. I had just bought my first ls1 3 weeks ago and drove it home from pennslyvania to Texas with my dad. We just got into Dallas on I 30 and we come up on a new 5.0, I wasnt sure how my dad would react to me
Racing someone on the street so I kinda crept up on him and my dad was like new 5.0 eh? I said yep and put it in 5th and got beside him and gave him a lil ls1 true dual exhaust, he just floored it and left me cuz there was a semi in front of me, I got around the semi and got back up to him and this time put it in 4th (keep in mind that I was still getting used to the gears) I blipped the throttle a couple times and he floored it again and I floored it too, here's the sad part we hit it at 55 with me in 4th gear and we stuck even till I short shifted to 5th at 4,500k rpm then he walked away. If I would have been in 2nd or 3rd I would have owned him, I can't wait to find another one now that I'm
Used to my 3.42's. Mods are Long tubes 3 in exhaust, air lid, k&n air filter :/ ls6 cam and 295's in the rear, stock ls1 intake

lol its awesome! i really wish you would have won your first race but its not bad at all im proud wish your car was back and going so we could go to south lake!

Me and Kay prolly going to southlake for dinner and a movie Saturday night if you and rach wanna go, but I'm ready for us to be cruisin around with one intent in mind, racing lol

Well me an my dad flew up there and drove it home 25 hours lol, but yea it was a good deal, $11k with 52k miles on the clock, had hooker super comps, ls6 cam, c5 zo6 wheels wrapped in some old ass michelin pilot sports 275's front 295 rear, pro 5.0, ss spoiler, dyno tuned, ls7 clutch, I've added a couple things since then but I feel like I got a good deal on it
