    Beam type torque wrench

So Im going to be doing some brakes and such on my GTO, and was hoping to save as much $$ as possible. I have tons of experience with brake jobs from working at an auto shop for a few months, so I'm not worried about any of that. What DOES worry me is ruining my new rotors and ending up with wheel-shake from over-torquing the lug nuts. I was looking at a Duralast beam-type torque wrench in the 150 ft-lb range, and was wondering what others have experienced with this style wrench. The thing is $12 from autozone, so I dont care about replacing a broken one. What I DO care about is accuracy and such, since in addition to lug nuts I'll be doing my radius rod bushings, which have 109-and 25 or 35 ft-lb nuts.
If you have anything bad to say about these wrenches, please let me know...Thanks!

It is just a basic torque wrench. Craftsman usually has clicker type for under 100. A good investment if you will use it more often. A beam is still better than just by feel if you are unsure.

A beam type will get you pretty close, but it is not as accurate as a click style torque wrench. The beam style will allow you to torque all the nuts the same amount which is always recommended -- so even if the torque is not exact, they will all be about the same. I have both kinds of wrenches and generally use the beam style to measure pre-load and rotational force specs.

The beam style torque wrenches are very accurate. Just harder to use tighter places imo.
