I've seen or known many a people who swapped out V-8's into many a foreign job.
I have a buddy that did one in a earlier model RX-7 and also a 260Z.
Jags that run has everything you need which was alot easier than whay he went through.

Its up to you, do you like driving a truck with a v8 or a little car with a v8?

The rx7 will be lighter and handle better. It has more potential to be faster if you get it to hook.

I just need something different lol. My 83 s10 is a sound truck but doing 140 plus mph is pushing my fear button lol. I plan on Boosting here shortly as well so I will only be getting faster lol. I will most likely go to a car but I enjoy the Weight to horsepower ratio I have and don't want to change it. I see a bunch of sec gen Rx7s on craigslist so pretty cheap so I'm thinking that will be the direction I head.

I am sure a late 80s rx-7 will not be any safer at 140mph+ if you crash than you truck. It might just be a little harder to crash thanks to its aerodynamics and lower center of gravity.

Let me reword that lol. I know at 140 mph death is likely in most to any vehicles lol. 8 point cage to help and a nice helmet but you can only hope for so much. I was meaning towards the areodynamics of a car vs a small truck lol.

You will be much safer in the car due to the aerodynamics, lower lift ratio, and the center of gravity.
Get the rx7. Just make sure you put some decent shocks, springs, tires and suspension under it before you start doing 140. Potholes can send you airborn at that speed.
