So a supercharged mustang GT got pulled by a 14 second LT1? The owner of that stang better just roll it off a cliff.

Haha that's what I'm saying! But he probably didn't have too big of a supercharger on there and was probably running like 4 lbs of boost.

GTs can have a huge range if power differences. I've seen some barely put down 300rwhp and others in the 400rwhp range. Its a crap shoot.

you could say the same about lt1's since their ET's and trap speed are very smilar to 99+GT cars.

GT could have been an auto, Fords autos are dogs.

My 99GT M5 trapped 98-99 consistently running 14.1 in FL humidity stock. Theyre very close to LT1s stock. Having owned both Id say the LT1 is faster but not by much. He may not have been S/C'd, there might have been something wrong with it making the whining sound?

He was driving an automatic so it downshifted on its own like mine did.

it's the other way around now. the new 5.0 auto goes pretty good and the auto camaro is a major dog.

i've heard throttle body spacers and cai's give a very distinct whistle.

The Rotofab CAI on my G8 is loud as hell, sounds kind of like a S/C whine at lower RPMS.

Looks like you are on par for what those cars are rated at as far as 1/4 mile.....well maybe a 1/10th slower but not horrible. Check the DA for that day and see what your time would be corrected.

Its a Plenum spacer and if its whistling, its not installed properly. CIA do whistle but you arent going to hear them over the exhaust.

I'd put money on the GT being an auto and not tuned properly. mod engines need tuned ASAP when you slap on a blower.

My old fox body had a bbk cai and a 80mm tb on the stock intake and would whistle from the air hitting the lip between the tb an the intake. The noise was loud enough that people could hear it over the exhaust and thought it was boosted.

That is basically dead on the nuts what that car is supposed to, and should run.

At least you know your engine isn't tired - it seems to be running just fine.
