Catback Mach 1 5spd VS LS1 Z28

This happened last night in mexico guys theres a kid around school who has a white mach 1 with atleast a catback idk about any other mods at any rate I've been wanting to find him for a long time. Last night I caught him at a stop light but there were cars in front of us after the light turned green we both managed to get ahead of traffic doing about 45 (crappy spot for my auto and 3.42's).

I wasnt really expecting him to race because I sat next to him for a good 5-10sec and nothing happened then all of a sudden I hear him grab second and take off. By the time I realized what happened he already had a car on me and was still gaining. I jump on the throttle and when my car downshifted into 2nd I immediately stopped his pull and started pulling back he grabbed third and I jumped another 1/4 car and was still pulling by the time we let off I had a fender on him at about 90. Didnt get to run a second time because of traffic. He sounded like just a catback car, I have lt headers, catback, udp, tune, 3.42's and a lid. I'd like to find him again and have a go from a decent speed for my gears and start off evenly not with him one car ahead lol. Btw i had a 150lb passenger in my car and he had no one... not that that would make a whole lot of difference tho

Thats a good kill, im sure if it was even start it would've been a much better victory but thats street racing in mexico, hehe.

Thanks guys I wish he would have stayed in it longer so I could have had better confirmation. Even tho i suppose it doesnt matter because i did pull all that distance back while we were both hammers down.

but ya stock for stock it probably woulda been good but thats what my bolt ons are for lol

That's exactly what their for. Haha that and the look on the passengers face when you slam their head to the seat and they forgot what they were just talking about. Nm this list could go on forever.

where in mex was this?? the good part about mex,, street racing is not illegal.. the problem is the road sux..
i used to race back then but i was 13,,lol..

when i said mexico I really meant a road in florida lol but ya the bolt ons have been fun. this summer if everything goes well the car is getting a 3600 stall and a ls6 crate motor swap

i had a lil run wit one.sounded like intake exhuast to me lol..it was on traffic so it really wasent a race ,he jammed the gas and so did i ..still the fender on him

They can be a handful to deal with. 5-speed ones with gears, exhaust, tires can put a damper on your ego in a hurry if the person can drive (not to exclude ladies in this post

).

They run well because I think they use the intake cam out of the DOHC 5.4 and its own special exhaust cam. They do use the same block and heads as the Terminator along with twin 57mm TB.

Stock for stock i beat a 03 mach 1 and beat him by 3-4 cars from stop an roll i got him by 2 and what makes it better is that he is our neighbor an our town only 2,000 people so everyone knows everyones business lol, so i bet u would have a better victory if it were a even start lol Anyway good kill!
