    2010 Grand Sport vs 2000 SS death

    Not much to say that the slip doesn't say. I was happy with it. It was close, he got by me right there at the end. I expected it to be much worse. I'm on the right lane.

    Good race there. The GS had a crappy 60' and that 111 mph trap has way more than a 12.9 in it.. I would be way happy with that!!!!

    really only a 12.9 for a GS? I've seen LS3 vette's bone stock get into high 11's on street tires.

    look'n at ur mods in ur sig, they are similar to mine minus the trans cooler and tune, i've never ran mine at the track tho, is your tune a mail order? would i be expecting high 12's on a great day? if so man that would be coo lol

    The only other thing on my car was drag radials. I suspect if you have similar mods you'd have similar times but I'm no expert and its hard to say without knowing more variables. As far as my tune...I'm pissed at it. I should have saved my 300+ dollars and gone with a mail order. I have a diablo sport that won't turn off my rear O2s but I installed the performance tune. Then I did a data log and adjusted the LFTs(fuel) and the transmission shift pressure, shift rpms, rev limiter and maybe one or two other things I can't remember right now.

    Okay,,,what's a Grand Sport?? You say GS and the first thing that comes to mind is a Buick GS. But those haven't been made in decades.

    A vette grand sport is the replacement for the z51 package. Has the bimode exhaust on the ls3. But a gs is built with zo6 suspension and brake hardware. Pulling over 1g of force with the z06 tires on them and the magnatheolblah blah shocks. They are really nice

    Oh okay, so it's a suspension upgrade and does nothing for 1/4 mile performance then. So technically it should run a straight line just like any other base model 2010 vette out there.

    Except for the wider rear tires. The bimode exhaust is supposed to help with low end torque management too... but that is probably very minute.

    Wrong, engines are hand built in the 6-speed ones and are making a significant more amount of power than the normal LS3s. Matched parts and better assembly perhaps? But they are somwhere north of 25-30hp over the usual LS3.

    That wasn't explained. So the Grand Sport had hand assembled engines too? Sounds like more than a suspension package then.

    Only the 6-speed ones. The automatics get the regular one.

    The engines are put together next to the Z06 engines.

    where you hear this? all grand sports are ls3s but checking the gs package gets you the bimode exhaust so its rated at 436hp for the m6 and a6. not callin bs just sayin i have never heard of just m6 ls3s being hand built

    It is true, stick-shift GS motors are assembled here in Milford,MI along with Z06 and ZR1 motors. It is a road-race car with a little motor help like the new Boss302 car making 440hp instead of the GT's 412hp.
