Power Steering Cooler? Best aftermarket?
As many of you probably have had to do, I had to bypass the crappy power steering cooler (in the upper radiator hose) on my 99 Z28 because it was leaking coolant into the power steering system. Now I have a new power steering pump on it with no cooler. It works fine this way for a while but then does warm up and make a little noise. I'm looking for some suggestions on the best fitting and budget priced power steering cooler that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb... thanks!

Imho bypass it and forget it.. If the pump you got is a remanned PS pump then it will likely make noise no matter what.. Remanned = built with Chinese/Mexican internals...

I have looked at a couple of different aftermarket coolers and will probably purchase a Derale for our car. They appear to all be a semi-universal setup from what research I have done. As of yet, I have not found an F-body specific cooler.

If you plan on driving your car for extended high rpm periods at all I'd definitely get a good aftermarket power steering cooler. I did a track day on a road course this weekend (New Jersey Motorsports Park, Lightning) and came to find out that our cars, v-8 fbodies have a problem with handling high power steering fluid temps when I sheared the dipstick, spring and the washer that lock it into the pump right off the cap. That and my pumps also busted now. I'm on the search right now for a good cooler so I'll stay posted. After all though, it was totally worthit even with a stock suspension aside from good brake pads, 18s, and subframe connectors, I was cruisin around that track.
