replacement filter for K&N FIPK
when I bought my car it came with a K&N FIPK already installed. Does anyone know of a better filter to use without haveing to swap the entire package over? Thanks for the info as this is one more thing that I may change on my Z28.

sorry I should have been more specific. I would like to get away from the oiled filter but like the open element design this has. When I clean this filter I basically take the car off line for a day to do it right. That is not a big deal but if I could get a better reusable filter that works for this system I would like to go that way. However if not I will use the K&N till I find a system I like later.

I would love to sell mine!! I hate it!!! It would work best for the T/a's with true ram air. The reason I state this is bc if you ever look at and SS type hood it only has (4) 1"x2-1/4" holes. . I had to cut my hood to open it up. So that the filter itself wasn't blocking those four small holes. I can post pics of what I mean. I you guys want, but (OP)..... I would look into selling it and buying a FTP 104mm lid. That's just my .02$!!!! Bc that's my next route.
The sound of your piss hitting the urinal.......yea it sounds feminine!

I replaced one of my KN's with a Amsoil and one with a AEM DryForce.

Silicon went down in both vehicles UOA's.

^^^hey Sarge, does that filter have a 3" or 4" opening on it??? Also I'm switching to amsoil tomorrow. I'll be ordering it off line. So what type should I buy? I know I need 10w-30 synthetic. But what kind I have 55k on her? Extended life or something? And could I get T56 tranny oil from them too? Or just stick with dextron 3!? Lastly, do they have 80w-90 non synthetic gear oil? That I may put in the moser rear(Detroit locker).
(sry for the thread jack & and so many questions)
& thank you Sarge in advance for the advice. I'm tryna do all this Tom. on my day off!!!

Mine were 4''.....But they have all kinds of sizes......
I would go with 10-30 OE Amsoil.
Your T56 is built for synchromesh fluid
I really like the Amsoil 75-110 for the punkin'......has the resitance of 75-90 but excellent protection and film strength.

thank you Sarge!!! I'm just wondering tho. I have RP synchromesh in there now, but I don't like it. it shifts like shit and gets hot as f^*%!!! so you think I should still use a synchromesh instead of an ATF by amsoil.

ATF or Synchromesh should work. they came with ATF from the factory. If the sychromesh isn't working for you, then drain it out and try ATF
